I am pretty good when it comes to self motivation and healthy habits. But there is also a gentle reminder each day on my wrist that gives me that extra push I need to get up from my desk or just move.
We purchased the Nike addition of the Apple watch earlier this year. You can set goals and see your results each day. I have a goal of 10,000 steps a day. It’s a goal I am proud to say I hit more often than not.
I think it’s important to create goals and write them down. You are then able to see that you have achieved them. You are also accountable for this goal. It really makes a big difference to me. There are times during the day I see how my steps are doing and if I am not getting close to my goal, I will if at all possible get up and walk as long as I can. Visiting my garden or walking around the neighborhood gets me outside.
I usually hit my goal before I even start my day. Added steps just make me happy and hopefully burn calories through out the day. Burning as many calories as I can is also a goal. Moving quickly creates the best results and I feel my best.
