February 2020, I cut most sugar out of my lifestyle. When your gut is full of inflammation and you are so sick of being uncomfortable you find a way to feel better.
Cutting your sugar intake helps your inflammation, energy and improves your ability to focus. I started feeling better right away. I use to pop a probiotic or a prebiotic multiple times during the day so I could enjoy meals and sleep better too.Sugar is hard on your gut! A full load of carbs a day is so hard to digest and makes your body sluggish. That is why so much inflammation happens.
A goal of mine for 2020 has been to feel my best all day long and sleep better. I now have achieved the feeling my best all day long after a few months of a low carb diet. When you actually make a commitment and almost a challenge for yourself to feel better, your results are better. I committed 100% to losing the carbs (sugar) and it’s been 6 months now!
It’s hard work to keep yourself on track to eat better each day. Meal planning takes time and shopping for healthy foods can be a challenge. It’s expensive to eat well. (This is so wrong) Educating yourself in what would be best to eat is also challenging. Stocking your home with healthier foods is also a work in progress.
To battle sicknesses and inflammation your body needs your help more than ever! Take a look at your shopping lists each week, pantry and your eating habits. See if you could eliminate a few sugar items and replace them with a plant based item. Example: stevia or monk fruit. Try adding these two sugars to your baking, coffee and treats. Switch out a heavy sugary fruit for berries that are in season. Try a BIG salad with no dressing or a sugar free dressing instead of potatoes or starchy foods.
Read the labels! One serving can have many carbs (sugar). Try creating more meals and less take out orders. Use Pinterest to find fun low carb recipes. I create meals around a grain free, low carb lifestyle. I feel my best and my husband does too. Good luck and stay healthy!
